What pointi stores

pointi lets you enter loyalty program balances and filter destination programs. This wallet data is stored in your browser local storage and is not sent to a pointi account, because pointi does not require accounts or login.

We also use a first-party visitor cookie, pointi-visited-v1, to show About to first-time home-page visitors. It stores only a visited flag, lasts up to one year, and contains no personal identifier or point balances. We do not send this flag to analytics. Clearing the cookie resets this preference.

A separate first-party cookie, pointi-routes-tour-v1, remembers whether the Transfer Routes tour was started, completed or dismissed. It lasts up to one year and prevents the tour from reopening automatically. It contains no unique identifier or balances, and its value is not sent to analytics. You can replay the tour with the page's help button.

Analytics

pointi uses Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics for site usage. Google Analytics loads automatically on the production site and uses cookies and browser identifiers to measure visits, pages viewed, and engagement. It may derive approximate location from network information. We do not send wallet balances, loyalty account numbers, or user IDs to either analytics service.

Google Analytics also receives a program identifier when you add a program or select a destination, and the number of visible and available results when you show more routes. Promotion navigation and offer or announcement link clicks include the click location and, where relevant, the offer or announcement identifier, source and destination program identifiers, link type, and whether an announced change is upcoming or recently effective. These events do not include point balances, dollar estimates, search text, outbound link URLs, or a copy of your wallet.

Our Google Analytics page-view events exclude URL query strings and fragments. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in our integration. The site does not currently display an analytics consent prompt. You can manage cookies through your browser settings or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on in supported browsers.

About-page buttons record the selected destination and whether the link was in the introduction or card-offers section. Credit card filters and detail, issuer-offer, and terms links record predefined filters, card and reward identifiers, and link location. These events do not include search text, balances, cookie values, or application information.

Page-tour events record starts, steps viewed, completion and dismissal, including whether the tour opened automatically or was replayed. These events contain only the tour and step identifiers, step number and entry point, not your balances or cookie values.

Advertising

If pointi displays ads, third party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the Internet.

Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

Data sources

Transfer ratios, partner lists, and valuation estimates are maintained from public sources and manual review. Always verify transfer terms directly with the loyalty program before transferring points.
